Designed for busy professionals who would rather understand how visitors use their web site than wade through mountains of data and pie charts, VisitorVille excels first and foremost by the visual insight it provides. Before VisitorVille, understanding what was going on in your web site was a very abstract mental exercise. With VisitorVille, it's as intuitive and meaningful as watching people on a city street, interacting with the buildings along the way. Have you ever seen your web site depicted as Real People, in a Real World, in Real Time? When people see VisitorVille for the first time, their jaw drops. Then a smile forms. Then they smack themselves on the head and say WOW! You simply don't see that reaction with products that require abstract, mathematical, non-intuitive thought. Visitors come to your web site from other sites (referrers). Some of these referrers are search engines. In VisitorVille, referrers are depicted as buses. Buildings resize and illuminate dynamically based on the number of people inside, their relative popularity, and how many visitors exited through them. Buses, taxis, and limos race around the streets; pedestrians walk across crosswalks; helicopters ply the air. It's all very real, because it's reflecting something that's also very real: Your visitors are human beings, and they exhibit human behavior.
